This place feels like a true sanctuary. Held by the stillness of the surrounding nature, the spaces are warm, intentional, and deeply grounding — designed to support rest, reflection, and healing. Natural light, earthy textures, and thoughtful details create an atmosphere that immediately invites you to soften and arrive. The retreat energy here is palpable. Sound baths in the sacred spaces felt expansive and deeply regulating, the vibrations moving through the body in a way that quieted the mind and opened the heart. Paired with the land itself — snow-covered trees, open sky, and profound silence — the experience felt timeless and deeply held. I cannot say enough about the horse constellations. What magic! This was a weekend of love, release, and remembrance. A gentle, powerful kind of healing that lingers long after you leave. A truly sacred place.

There are many ways I can describe the vibration, aesthetic and energy of Akera but the word that most comes to mind is magical ✨. Last summer I had the honor of facilitating one of my closest friends weddings there, and out of the dozens I’ve performed, this was the most amazing. And this was in no small part because of the place, the land, the people and the care that has gone into every aspect of Akera. I’ve seen so many retreat centers. Even helped build one. And it’s hard to overstate how wonderful it is. They have captured the a look and feel that turns every event into a magical experience filled with the perfect balance of luxury and rustic charm. With modern convenience and connection to nature. If you are looking to create a an experience with your community or loved ones that can open the heart or connect with spirit, you have just found it. The buildings and land at Akera are absolutely stunning. The main structure is a wooden geodesic dome — that functions as a gathering and ceremonial space. There’s a magical energy that pervades the space — think Burning Man meets Tolkien’s Rivendell. The creators put in a tremendous amount of love and effort into designing and decorating the structures. It’s only 2.5 hours away from NYC — but it feels like you’re in a different world. Meals included local kombucha — and colorful eggs from tiny, local farms. The only possible downside is the limited number of bathrooms — especially for events hosting larger groups. Other than, it’s an amazing place.
