Caldwell House Bed and Breakfast

We had a lovely stay at this bed and breakfast - a perfect weekend getaway. The B&B is beautifully run by Dena and John, who were so warm and welcoming. The sweet couple create a perfect balance of giving you peace and quiet, while also welcoming you with great conversation over a delicious and plentiful breakfast made by Dena. The care and love that goes into this place was something very special. They truly made us feel like family. We stayed in the Freedom Room in the carriage house. The room was clean, spacious, private, and very comfortable, and stocked with snacks and Keurig options, a wine fridge, and access to a common space with a large fridge, filtered water, and anything you may need. We loved our stay so much, we gifted a stay to family members as we know they'll love it too. Highly recommend this B&B - we will gladly return.

Caldwell House Bed and Breakfast – Carriage House, Vineyard Room Our stay in the Carriage House’s Vineyard Room was peaceful, comfortable, and marked by genuine hospitality—but what truly distinguished the experience was the attentiveness of both innkeepers, Dena and John. I follow a vegan diet, and Dena went well beyond simply accommodating that preference. She prepared intentional, thoughtfully designed vegan substitutions alongside the standard breakfast. My meals were clearly planned with care and creativity, equal in quality and presentation to what was served to other guests, and never felt like an afterthought. Breakfast was also made especially enjoyable by John, who offered warm, thoughtful conversation each morning. His easy manner and genuine interest in guests added a welcoming, communal feel without ever being intrusive—exactly the kind of presence that elevates a bed-and-breakfast stay from pleasant to memorable. Dena also graciously assisted me in surprising my wife for her birthday. She helped coordinate the timing and ordered flowers in advance, making the celebration feel seamless and genuinely special. Her behind-the-scenes care transformed a simple stay into a meaningful occasion, and my wife was deeply touched. The Vineyard Room itself is quiet and inviting, and the Carriage House strikes a lovely balance between privacy and historic charm. Taken together—the setting, the food, and the personal engagement from both innkeepers—created an experience that felt relaxed, gracious, and sincerely attentive. Caldwell House exemplifies hospitality done right: refined but unpretentious, personal without being overbearing, and deeply considerate of individual guest needs.

My wife and I try to come here at least one weekend a year, nice little romantic getaway.. John and Dena are great, the service is awesome, breakfast is always delicious , they are very accommodating to my wife’s dietary needs. The rooms are always very clean and comfortable. And there is plenty of things to do around the area as well.
