We visited for brunch on Valentine’s Day and had a wonder experience. All of the food was so delicious, especially the scones and quiche. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The house itself if gorgeous and decorated so beautifully. We have been to brunch a few times and have always had a great experience. Would recommend!

The Borland House is decorated to make you feel like you've stepped back into time. The food is wonderful and they offer plenty of options for people with allergies and restrictions. I highly recommend the skillet frittata or the stuffed french toast. The gift shop they have also is catered with handmade items not only from the owner but the manager as well, and another vendor who makes tallow creams and room sprays (I got the cedar one) I appreciated the manager giving us a tour of the rooms as they were available to view at the time. Definitely a charming historic inn and will be back to hopefully stay. You can see the care put into this building.

I would say it’s a very “specific” experience. Perhaps if going back in time (in almost every way) is your cup of tea it would be great. Very authentically 1780. Very little has been updated aside from light switches. The Manager allowed us in early (which we thanked her several times for) and we saw the gentleman one time quickly as he pointed to the coffee maker (that kind of works) which we also thanked graciously. My recommendation would be a few updated comforts. (A television that is large enough to see from across the very generous size bedroom.) the bathroom was lovely, no complaints aside from the soap and shampoo so watery it was hard (impossible) to create lather. The pillows desperately need to be replaced and perhaps offer a couple of extras. (Some people with back issues often need an extra). My only other issue is the closed up old home often comes with a musty smell. Open air would help a great deal. A fan or air unit that a guest can control would help a lot as well. At that price point a couple of bottles of water is typically provided. It can clearly be seen here that I have never left a negative review on ANYTHING and that isn’t my intention here, just a “heads up” for future guests. It’s a very DIFFERENT experience.
